ARGENTINA – PROVINCE of MARIA-LUISA
On January 13, 1962, the first Daughters of Wisdom, having responded to an invitation to nurse children suffering from polio, arrived in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Thus was started the history of the presence of Wisdom on this land in the South, “where the colors mix and the forms embrace, where Marie-Louise walks as she contemplates its natural beauty”.
Fifty years later, Wisdom is still with us as we come together in thanksgiving for her tenderness towards her daughters, for the road travelled and for so many faces of our brothers and sisters who participated with us in this adventure of risking everything for God.

On January 13, 2012, we celebrated these fifty years in the Chapel of Our Lady of Caacupé, in the town of Fiorito, one of the places where the Daughters of Wisdom had come in the past to live and work for many years. The entire community was overjoyed that their town had been chosen for the celebration of the thanksgiving mass.
The Montfort Fathers were present with us: Carlos Hudtwalcker and Pedro María Guiot, as well as a priest from the diocese of Avellaneda – Lanús, Father Oscar López. The Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame of the Immaculate Conception of Castres (The “Blue Sisters”) were also present, as well as various groups of the Friends of Wisdom who journey with us. Those Consecrated to Jesus through Mary from different parish communities also joined to share with us in giving thanks to the Lord.

The Chapel community had prepared for us a video, briefly illustrating the journey of the Daughters of Wisdom in the Fiorito zone. What applauses were heard and emotions expressed when it was shown! These were touching memories and moments of joy for us, as well as for the people who, in their simplicity and proximity, shared their impressions when they saw the faces of so many sisters that have been with them and have been good to them.
The letter from our Superior General was full of hope and encouragement, most especially when she said: My Sisters, “You have a glorious history to remember and to share, but you also have a great history to build! Raise your head and look towards the future, the one where the Spirit is leading you in order to bring about great things.”
…and because we have confidence in this Spirit inviting us “to widen our tent”, we go on with our journey, hand in hand with the woman disciple, Mary our Mother, in order that she continue to show us the footsteps of Jesus Wisdom, and lead us “where life calls us” as did Louis Marie and Marie Louise.
