La Sagesse Development and Rehabilitation Center, a dedicated institution for children with special needs under the care of the Daughters of Wisdom, is all set to welcome the new school year on June 16, 2025.
In anticipation of this, the spirit of bayanihan – a cherished Filipino tradition of communal unity and cooperation – was vibrantly alive during today’s Brigada Eskwela. On the morning of June 11, from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, our community united with heartfelt dedication, working hand in hand to support our shared mission.
“Brigada Eskwela” or “School Brigade” is a nationwide program in the Philippines where the community works together to prepare schools for the start of classes through cleaning, repairs, and maintenance.
It was wonderful to see so many come together, including our dedicated students from the Angels Hands livelihood program, students from other programs, supportive parents and guardians, even some of the students’ siblings, and our tireless teaching and non-teaching staff. We are also incredibly grateful to those parents who, though unable to attend, generously sent cleaning materials and contributed food to energize our volunteers!
We were not just cleaning and repairing; we were actively building a safe and prepared learning space for all our students. Huge thanks to everyone who lent a hand or contributed in any way! Let us make this school year the best one yet!
